DragonmanWeasley: Um... Professor... am I disturbing you? gryffindortabby: Not at all. Charlie, correct? DragonmanWeasley: That's right. It's such a pleasure to see you're well! gryffindortabby: Very kind of you, yet there is no need to get on my good side, dear man... I am no longer in charge of your marks, you know. DragonmanWeasley: *can't help but smile at that* Now, Professor, certainly it's POSSIBLE that I'm being sincere? gryffindortabby: Quite possible, indeed. And yet the recent *clears her throat* events at school recently have forced me to lose faith in many things. One of them being other peoples' sincerity. Do not take offence! DragonmanWeasley: None taken, I assure you. I do hope George and Fred haven't been part of the cause. gryffindortabby: *sighs* Well. I would never resort to spreading more talk about the place. Their business is their own. Yet, I'm sure you've caught up on our web of melodrama at least half way? DragonmanWeasley: Oh, yes, and I do hope mother doesn't ever hear what they've done. It almost makes my days in Hogwarts seem... tame. gryffindortabby: Tame doesn't even begin to describe it. I have fantasies about those days in which everything was so simple. DragonmanWeasley: Professor, it may be a bit of a shock to you, but those days weren't all cream and roses... there just wasn't as much publicity to it. gryffindortabby: True. I would gladly have my ignorance back if it was presented to me. I know things about students that I would certainly be happier not knowing! DragonmanWeasley: I assure you, none of them wanted to know. Still... I think I see some of the wisdom intended here. DragonmanWeasley: er, none of them wanted you to know, excuse me. I'm still getting used to this thing. gryffindortabby: I know exactly what you mean. That is another thorn in my side... these riddiculous machines. DragonmanWeasley: The muggle world has it's own wonders, I suppose. gryffindortabby: I'm sure. Well, enough complaining on my side, I presume. How are you doing? Your brother Fred has alerted me that he is visiting you for a week, yes? DragonmanWeasley: Right, that... I'm doing well, I did manage to contact Hagrid about coming down. gryffindortabby: Wonderful! Has he approved your request? DragonmanWeasley: I haven't heard back, but it was only an hour ago. gryffindortabby: All right. If he has any questions, do not hessitate to send him my way. I think it is a marvelous idea. DragonmanWeasley: Thank you, Professor, I certainly will. gryffindortabby: Is there anything pressing you wished to bring to my attention, Charles? Or did you merely want to send another "hello"? DragonmanWeasley: Merely wanted to send another hello, and show you that I have this... Instant Messaging device the students are fond of. gryffindortabby: Not only fond of, but it was requested that everyone involved in this little project have some sort of way to be contacted through these silly machines. DragonmanWeasley: I see. I was wondering why everyone had something of the sort. gryffindortabby: Believe me, I wouldn't if it wasn't for Professor Dumbledore's urging. DragonmanWeasley: Oh, professor, surely there's something good about it? gryffindortabby: Well. I suppose it gives us journal participates a chance to bond. And while doing so, the students argue, threaten, conspire, plan, create mischief... DragonmanWeasley: As they always have. Only now you get the chance to put a stop to it faster. gryffindortabby: I am beginning to wonder if that is just what Dumbledore *wants* us to believe. gryffindortabby: Oh, dear, I didn't mean to sound cruel about Professor Dumbledore! Please forgive me. DragonmanWeasley: Speaking as a former student... there were times when I wished I could simply blurt out my problems, fears, and misgivings, and be done with it. gryffindortabby: To the professors, you mean, or anyone in general? DragonmanWeasley: Anyone in general. DragonmanWeasley: And there is no offence taken at the cruelty about Professor Dumbledore, ma'am. gryffindortabby: Thank you for that. gryffindortabby: I do hope, however, that if there was something important, you did find the time to talk to someone about it? It does not help to let something fester inside someone. DragonmanWeasley: I have no complaints, and I did, thank you for the concern. gryffindortabby: If you do not mind me asking, why did you join this journal business? DragonmanWeasley: Well... Father had mentioned it, and hinted in his letter that mother was very uncomfortable with a muggle's computer in the house, and would I mind keeping an eye on the boys and Ginny? gryffindortabby: Very sweet of you to help. I've had a few owls sent to me from concerned parents, myself. You might have also noticed the presence of Draco Malfoy's mother and father. DragonmanWeasley: Yes. DragonmanWeasley: That's rather... it's... I do wish I could send a dragon their way, just once. gryffindortabby: *stiffles a laugh* Sadly, I know exactly what you mean. DragonmanWeasley: We actually named a pair we're trying to mate after them. It's rather... therepuetic to talk about what a right nasty beast Narcissa is. gryffindortabby: Oh, my! OH... well. How cunning. DragonmanWeasley: Thank you! gryffindortabby: I do not feel I need to point this out to you, but I do hope that you will retain your manners once you arrive at Hogwarts? Be on your best behaviour around the Malfoys, no matter how much it pains. DragonmanWeasley: Of course, Professor, of course I will. gryffindortabby: Splendid. Because, although I probably should not be saying so, the alumni have not been at their best when visiting us. Even those with responsibilities, I'm sad to say. DragonmanWeasley: Perce? gryffindortabby: No! Oh, no, Percy has been extremely well behaved. He has always been someone to count on in times of need. Even when he was recovering he continued to set the bar. DragonmanWeasley: Wonderful! Yes, I have seen the... Slytherin influence. gryffindortabby: Yes. Though, not to be unfair, the Gryffindors have not been better in comparison. DragonmanWeasley: I'm afraid this is true. DragonmanWeasley: Professor, I must warn you of one thing... I'm afraid time with the dragons has made me... courser than I was at school gryffindortabby: How do you mean? Courser? DragonmanWeasley: My... languge, in some things, isn't as refined as it could be. DragonmanWeasley: And, evidently, spelling. gryffindortabby: Since when is spelling used in Magical Creatures? DragonmanWeasley: *grins* Yes, but I AM typing with a professor. gryffindortabby: Oh, do not worry about such frivilous matters. If anything, it will help you get on with the students in a much more intimate way. If they trust a teacher they learn far more. DragonmanWeasley: Do you think they'll consider me a teacher? gryffindortabby: True, you are. Yet, like I said before, you haven't any need to impress me. I am an old woman and you are a fine young man, end of subject. gryffindortabby: Do you plan on teaching them important material in a classroom situation? DragonmanWeasley: I do, of course. DragonmanWeasley: And you're hardly old, Professor. gryffindortabby: If you are teaching then you are most likely going to be fit with the title of a teacher. Others will call you by that title if you succeed. gryffindortabby: Oh, pish-posh. I know what I am. DragonmanWeasley: Well, I don't see you so much as an old woman as I do a woman I still have a lot of respect for, as well as things to learn from. If you'll excuse my impertinance. gryffindortabby: You were always the most charming out of the Weasley children, I must say. Thank you. DragonmanWeasley: Professor, if I am charming, I'd like to think I at least come by it honestly. gryffindortabby: So it seems, yes. DragonmanWeasley: And WITH honesty, which was the point I utterly failed to make. gryffindortabby: It was not lost, however. DragonmanWeasley: I'm glad. gryffindortabby: It has been wonderful to be able to have this chat with you, Charles. It warms my heart. I do not mean to seem as if I'm pushing you away, but it is rather late and I do have classes tomorrow. We must do this again in the future. DragonmanWeasley: Of course. Anytime you'd like to talk, feel free to message me. I didn't mean to keep you, ma'am. Sleep well! gryffindortabby: Thank you, I appreciate it. I believe I will have a good night of sleep for once. Good night.
