warringtonchaser: :: standing at the top of the stairs nervously, listening to the footsteps ::
ForeverSlytherin: ::pacing back and forth, clutching his wand (like it'd do him any good) in case Bole shows up::
warringtonchaser: Okay. Yeah. I can do this. ::takes a deep breath and hurries up the last couple of steps to the hallway::
ForeverSlytherin: ::catches sight of Warrington as he turns; stops:: Chris? What brings you here?
warringtonchaser: Just wanted to see how you were doing, Marcus. ::shoves his hands into his pockets::
ForeverSlytherin: I'm... well. I don't really know. But I"m here.
warringtonchaser: I'll keep you company for a bit, if you don't mind.
ForeverSlytherin: No. I'd like that. I'm driving myself mad.
warringtonchaser: He's going to be all right, Marcus. And then hopefully everything will go back to normal? ::leans against the wall:: As normal as it ever was, anyway.
ForeverSlytherin: ::shakes his head:: I don't know, Chris. I really don't. I mean... yes. He's going to be fine. Last night...we talked. Well, I talked. He nodded. But. This thing with Bole? I don't know that things can go back to normal.::sighs:: I don't know if I want them to.
warringtonchaser: Nothing's ever been normal with that bastard, and this entire episode just makes me think that he's finally cracked.
ForeverSlytherin: Yeah. I know. Still. At least I'm finding out who my friends really are.
warringtonchaser: ::uneasily:: So you're sure that things are all right between us, then.
ForeverSlytherin: ::looks at him curiously:: I was. I mean, unless you're not? I -- if this has caused problems with you and Tyb....
warringtonchaser: No, Tyb is... well, he's not very happy at the moment, but that's for a completely different reason. Things are fine between the two of us, but... ::closes eyes:: I'm so worried that. ..this has damaged things.. I know you'll think I've gone soft...
ForeverSlytherin: Why would *I* think that? I spent half of last night groveling to a Gryffindor.
warringtonchaser: Yes, but you love him. And I completely bloody understand that.
ForeverSlytherin: I know. But why would I think you'd gone soft?
warringtonchaser: Because I'm worrying about this so much. I value your friendship, Marcus. A ... a lot.
ForeverSlytherin: I know. I value yours, too. I mean--right now, it's good to know who I can count on . Really count on. And... I wish I could make you stop worrying about this.
warringtonchaser: It's just that I haven't done anything in five years without agonizing over whether or not it was the right thing to do, and then something like this happens, and I worry that it's changed things.
ForeverSlytherin: Yeah, Chris, it changed things. It changed a lot of things. It changed the fact that I was becoming convinced that I couldn't touch anyone without making them hate me. It changed the fact that I was seriously considering doing myself in.
warringtonchaser: ...Really?
ForeverSlytherin: Yeah. Really.
