Scott hopped in the Jaguar and looked at Ororo. "Hopefully I'll be back in a couple of days," he said. "I'll get that bastard yet."

And he drove off. Storm stared after him as Jean appeared by her side.

"Can you believe him?" Storm said, shaking her head.

"The things men do for a piece of steel," said Jean.

"Or for their motorcycles."

The two women laughed as they headed back into the mansion. "Those two will never admit to it, will they?" said Storm.

"Not in this century." They were almost at the dining room when Jean's pager went off. She took it off her and read the message.

"It's the Professor," she said. She turned to Storm. "I have to go now."

Storm looked upset. "I guess since it's the Professor it's all right. You'll be back for dinner tonight?" She looked hopeful.

"Of course." Jean and Storm kissed briefly and she went to the Professor's office.

A few minutes later...

Professor Xavier was reading some papers when there was a knock on the door. "Come in," he said and the door opened to reveal Jean.

"You wanted to see me Professor?"

"Why yes." He wheeled from behind his desk and towards her. "I'm going out of the country on buisness for a few weeks and since Scott's not around I would like it if you took charge."

Jean looked stunned. She sat down on a chair so she wouldn't faint. "Me?" she said. "Why me? Isn't Ororo good enough for the position?"

Xavier rolled closer to her. "Yes she is very capable but you have never been given a chance. I want to give you that chance."

Jean leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. "I won't let you down." she said, and left the office.

One week later...

Jean stood in front of the bulletin board that was in her and Storm's bedroom. On the board was a tear off calendar filled with green and red index cards. She had a pen in one hand, and a red index card in another.

"Okay field trip to Brooks museum at five," she said while writing it down on the card and putting it on the Thursday spot.

She picked up a green card. "So that would leave for Friday, to trim my nose hairs? John!" She poked her head outside of the hallway to see the blonde firestarter running down the hall laughing when he reached the steps still laughing.

"Oh I'm brilliant," he said walking past Ororo.

"Let me guess," she said, "You put green jello in her shoes?"

"Hey that's a good idea Miss Munroe, thanks!" He went down the stairs as Storm went to her room.

"Sweetie, there's a package for you," she said to Jean. The women went to the front door of the mansion. Jean signed for the package and opened it.

"Oh my god," came a voice from behind them. It was Jubilee. She was staring at a bright red and orange wig that was in the box.

"Is that for you, Doctor?" she asked.

"I don't think so." Jubilee took the wig out of the box and put it on her head.

"How do I look?" she asked. Both women smiled and Jean took it off her head.

"Obviously none of this stuff belongs to me," said Jean, holding up a black leather corset top, "So I'm gonna just return this stuff later." She stuffed the top and wig back in the box and went back to their room.

Later that night during dinner, Storm looked around the table, but didn't see Jean anywhere. Then she heard the front door open and close. Jean entered the room and sat beside her. "Where have you been all this time?" she asked.

"Well there was an appointment that took longer than expected," she said. She, Storm and the kids ate dinner without a second thought.

The next morning the kids were chatting away around a large table in the kitchen, waiting for breakfast. Jubilee, Kitty, and Rogue were gossiping about boys while John and Bobby were playing footsie underneath the table. Storm was quietly drinking a glass of orange juice.

Jean came into the dining area and said, "Okay guys, breakfast is ready first come, first serve!"

The kids jumped out of their seats and got thier first helpings of the food. After they were done Storm and Jean piled some pancakes on thier plates and went back to the table.

"Um, Miss Munroe," said Bobby, "Would it be okay if John and I went to the mall, seeing it's a Saturday?"

"Of course," she said. She picked up her glass of orange juice and sipped it. When she put the glass down, she noticed something sticking out of Jean's pants. It was a bright yellow feather. Storm took it out and chuckled.

"Honey are you turning into a chicken?" she teased, waving it in front of Jean's face. Jean almost choked on her eggs and snatched it out of her hand.

"I have no idea where this came from," she said. She put the feather beside her plate and continued eating.

After Bobby found a parking spot, the boys headed straight for the arcade. They had a bet going on who can win the most games. Loser buys lunch. After the arcade a pissed off John, bought the two McDonald's. They were eating and talking when John saw a redheaded woman walking into a store. Bobby noticed his expression and looked behind him.

"Who are you staring at?" he asked.

"A woman just walked into that new party store. She looked a lot like Jean."

Bobby laughed. "What makes you think that Dr. Grey would go into a store like that?"

"I don't know. Maybe we should find out." John finished his food and grabbed Bobby by the arm.

"Hey, I'm not done!" he protested, but it was no use. John dragged Bobby all the way to the store. Before entering, the boys looked through the window pane, trying to spot Jean.

"There she is!" said John. "And she's buying a pair of leporard spotted pants? What the fuck?"

"Yeah what the fuck is right," Bobby agreed.

"First she gets those weird clothes, then that feather, now this." John looked away from the glass and at Bobby. "There's only one thing left to do now."

"What? Ask her what she's been up to?"

"No! We follow her and see where she goes, of course!"

Bobby sighed. "I have no say in this, do I?"

"No."

"Then I'll love to go." He took out his keys and the boys followed Jean out of the mall.

After what had seem like an hour of driving closely behind her, Jean turned into a resturaunt with John following suit. She parked right in front of Japanese resturaunt called Sakura. John and Bobby stayed in their own cars and waited while Jean went inside. When the coast was clear they left the car and went into the resturaunt. Inside there were chefs slicing and dicing food right in front of the customers' faces. John and Bobby looked around the place in amazement as they found a open booth.

"This place kicks ass. Why is Jean here?" said John.

Bobby just shrugged as a man came on a large stage with a karoake machine.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he said, "May I introduce the seductive sounds of Phoenix!"

A woman with bright red and orange hair appeared on the stage. She was wearing a black corset leather top and leopard pants. A woman who looked a lot like...

"Dr.Grey!" the boys said in a loud whisper.

The music came on and she began singing.

"You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life. Oooh see that girl watch that scene, digging the dancing queen."

As Jean continued singing, John stared at the stage with an evil grin on his face.

"This is too good. Not even I could have dreamt of something like this!"

"So what do we do now?"

"We are going to make her sweat a little," said John. He wrapped his arm around Bobby.

"The night is young and the music's hiiiigh," he lipsynced along with Jean.

The next afternoon, Rogue, Kitty and Jubilee were sitting in thier dorm rooms.

"Okay it's settled," said Kitty. "We take Miss Munroe to a resturaunt but where?"

Rogue shrugged her shoulders as Jubilee made a face, thinking. The silence wouldn't last very long because a blast of music came from the boys' dorm.

"What is that?" said Jubilee.

"Sounds like...disco music," said Kitty.

"I got to see this," said Rogue. The girls got off the bed and went down the hall. Jubilee put her head against the door of each room, trying to see where the music came from. Finally she stopped at Bobby and John's door.

"It's coming from here."

She banged on the door and it opened to reveal John on the other side.

"Something wrong?"

"Yes," said Kitty. "Why are you playing that music?"

"Ah no reason I just feel like dancing." John struck a John Travolta of "Saturday Night Fever" pose.

"Well, could you keep it down? We can't hear ourselves think."

"I never got that phrase," said Rogue. "How can one hear themselves think?"

"It doesn't matter!" said Kitty, "Just keep it down!"

"Sure, fine whatever."

The girls went back to their dorms. Walking towards the room was now Jean.

"Boys, what are you doing? I can hear that music from downstairs."

"Phoenix!" Bobby shouted from the bed.

Jean glared at him. "What did you just say?"

"Phoenix. The answer to the crossword puzzle. It's just been plaguing me for a while now."

Jean was tempted to read his thoughts but decided against it. "Well just keep the disco down okay?" And she left.

John closed the door behind him and jumped on Bobby's bed. "Crossword puzzle? I like it."

"Yeah, well, I guess you're finally rubbing off me."

Monday morning and Kitty's classes were done. She was on her way to the lunch hall when she spotted a flyer on the wall. She took it off and read it to herself.

"Saturday night is karaoke night at Sakura's. Sakura's? Interesting." A few feet in front she could hear someone tearing something. She saw that it was Jean, tearing down the flyers. She put hers between her books as the telepath walked her way.

"Why are you tearing down the flyers?"

"Why? Well...because...they are hazardous to y'alls health."

"How?"

"Well what if you get a serious paper cut from these? I have to keep the kids' safety in minds while the Professor is gone." She continued to tear off the flyers as Kitty went to get some lunch.

"Sakura's? Sounds interesting," said Rogue. She and Kitty were sitting on the grassy knoll outside of the mansion.

"Yeah it sounds like the perfect place to take Miss Munroe for her surprise dinner."

"But how do we get Storm to go with us?"

"I got an idea." Kitty leaned in closer to Rogue and discussed her plan.

Back at the dorms Bobby and John were kissing frantically. John's hands went down on Bobby's shirt, unbuttoning it. He was about to rip it off when a knock came at the door.

"Shit," he groaned and got off the bed to open it. There stood Jean with a bunch of flyers in her hand.

"Do you two happen to know who put these up?"

John hesistated for a minute. "Well..."

"You two saw me perform at the resturant?"

John sighed. You can only lie to a telepath for so long.

"Yeah, we did. We thought that we might have some fun with it for a while. We're sorry if you're hurt by it or anything."

"Just one question: Why are you doing this?" asked Bobby.

Jean stepped inside and closed the door behind her. She found a chair and sat on it.

"I guess it's because I was under a lot of pressure. With the professor putting me in charge and everything I just needed to let off some steam. But I do need for you guys to do me a favor."

The boys looked at each other. "Sure what?"

"Don't tell anyone especially not Ororo. I want to tell them on my own time."

"Okay," both boys said and Jean left.

"Wow," said Bobby, "I didn't know that she was so stressed."

"Neither did I."

The whole week went by like any other and once again it was Saturday. The girls were in the lounge area sitting around a table while Bobby was reading on the large sofa. He overheard thier conversation.

"So when are we leaving?" asked Jubilee.

"We are leaving with Storm around six thirty," replied Kitty.

"And she has no idea that we're taking her to Sakura's?" asked Rogue.

Bobby closed his book and listened carefully.

"None."

"Oh I can't wait!" Jubilee shreiked. "Maybe we can get her to do some karaoke while we're there."

Bobby didn't stay to hear the rest. He bolted out of the room and headed straight to the basketball court where John was.

"John! John I need to talk to you now!"

John heard Bobby's cries and left the court.

"What's wrong?"

"I overheard Rogue, Jubilee and Kitty talking about taking Miss Munroe to Sakura's right now."

"Oh shit. Jean's gonna be there, is she?"

"Yes! We have to go, now!" He grabbed John by the arm and to the garage.

An hour later, the boys arrived at the resturaunt. They found a parking space and rushed inside. They searched frantically to find Ororo and the girls sitting at a booth not too far from the stage.

"This place is wonderful," said Storm. ,p> "Yeah this certainly is worth letting Kitty drive to get to," said Jubilee.

"And what is wrong with my driving? We got here alive didn't we?"

"Barely!"

The whole group chuckled as John and Bobby sat in their booth.

"What are you two doing here?" asked Storm.

"We're here to get you guys out," said John.

"Yeah the food here is dangerous. We came by here one time and John couldn't stop puking for hours afterwards."

"They said there was nothing wrong with the chicken but I beg to differ."

"Yeah so let's get going before you guys become their next victims."

Just then Jean appeared on the stage with her getup on and her back towards the audience.

"Now ladies and gentlemen," said the announcer, "Give it up for Phoenix!"

"We gotta go now!" said John. He got out of his seat and tried to get the others to do the same.

"I want to stay and see the show," said Ororo.

"The show sucks trust me."

"Dancing Queen" began playing and Jean turned around and started singing. Rogue looked at her with shock.

"That woman looks a lot like..."

"JEAN!" Storm shouted.

Jean stopped singing and saw the boys, girls and Ororo staring back at her. She took off her wig and got off the stage.

A few minutes later, Jean and Storm were sitting together talking.

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" Storm asked.

"Well I didn't think you would understand. And I was a little embarrassed."

"You should know that I would understand. I guess we all need to go crazy every once in a while."

"Yeah I guess we do." The two were about to kiss when another song came over the speakers. There on the stage were the group of teens and John wearing Jean's wig.

"This ain't a song for the broken hearted," he sang off key.

"No silent prayer for faith departed," Rogue followed.

The whole group sang, "And I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd, you're gonna hear my voice when I shout it out loud. It's my life and it's now or never. I ain't gonna live forever. I just wanna live when I'm alive. Cause it's my life."

"Do you think we should stop them?" asked Jean.

"Nah, let them have some fun." She leaned over and they kissed while the kids continued to sing.

Scott and Logan parked inside the garage and entered the mansion. Scott looked around.

"Where is everyone?"

The front door of the mansion just opened. In came Jean and Storm holding hands, followed by the girls and Bobby and John. They went upstairs, singing "Super Trooper" along the way.

Scott took one look at the wig John was still wearing and said, "I don't want to know."

"For once I have to agree with ya."

The End
